Apple has officially announced a price increase for its Apple Music subscription service in Nigeria. Beginning from July 12, 2025, the monthly fee for the individual plan will move from ₦1,000 to ₦1,300.

The update was confirmed through an official Apple notice sent to Nigerian users and widely circulated online. According to the message, the increase applies specifically to the individual plan, while details about other plan categories such as Family and Student plans remain unclear at the moment.

This change shows a 30 percent rise in monthly subscription fees for Nigerian users and comes amid rising concerns over currency fluctuations and inflation impacting global tech services.

Apple’s brief notice simply reads, “Apple is raising the price of this subscription,” but no detailed explanation has been provided for the adjustment.

With this new pricing, Nigerian Apple Music users will now pay ₦15,600 per year, compared to the previous ₦12,000 annual cost. Many local users have reacted with mixed feelings, with some expressing concern about increasing costs of digital services, while others say the new price is still competitive compared to alternative platforms.

Apple Music remains one of the most popular streaming services in Nigeria, offering a vast library of music, playlists, radio shows, and exclusive content. Despite the price hike, the platform is still considered affordable compared to international pricing.

The new rate will automatically take effect for all individual subscribers on or after July 12, unless users cancel their subscription before their next billing date.
